American-Palestinian Adolescent Released Following Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian adolescent after completing a nine-month period in imprisonment by Israel without charge was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 when he was arrested this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.

Mohammed, now 16, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, relatives told the media.

Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.

Through an official statement, family spokesperson expressed the family's "immense relief".

Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Right now, our priority is providing Mohammed with urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after being subjected to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment throughout his detention."

US officials announced ongoing to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

{"US government authorities gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to the state department and the administration, urging greater action for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business based in Tampa, previously claimed his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility on the West Bank.

The facility also contains grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced of serious terrorism offences and homicide.

An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, document cases involving mistreatment and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen according to health authorities died from beating by radical settlers amid clashes last July.

Initially, military authorities reported officials were investigating information regarding a civilian was deceased.

Both young men were employed together in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.

No charges have been filed for the cousin's murder.

"We expect United States leadership to safeguard our relatives," Mr Kadur said.
