Barcelona Ready for First Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
