Tributes Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Well beyond 14 days subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues continue to honor the pair.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt ready to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Enough time has gone by that I can at last articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, remarking that he doesn't recollect "one day without mirth".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a distinct piece, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles court official decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive issued a embargo on the files to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" associated with the active case.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a record citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

Following the killings, public figures expressed divergent reactions.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making controversial claims that were widely condemned by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his perspective to the those speaking out last week. Conversing on his show, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disappointing" and suggested they showed a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by suggesting that an aide should have stepped in when the choice to weigh in on the death was made.
