Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
